Maybe we can help?
What does Wildcrafted actually mean?
‘Wildcrafted’ refers to ingredients gathered from their natural habitat i.e: not from farmed land, and with no interference in their growth. For instance, the rosehips we use for our rosehip oil are harvested from existing bushes that have grown naturally or been encouraged to do so in a given area of land. No fertilisers, additional water or pesticides are used, and they are handpicked at the optimum time in their growth cycle, with the least damage to the plants and surroundings for future use and sustainability. Along with achieving the highest quality and effectiveness in our products, this method has the least environmental impact. It’s a win-win for consumers and nature alike, and is part of what makes our products special. We are the first company to trademark the name in the UK and EU.
Are your products really organic and vegan?
Yes - all our products adhere to organic standards and are also 100% vegan. We have noticed that some products on the market, despite their apparent similarity to ours, actually use animal-based oils (tallows). We don't use such ingredients in our formulations, and we can provide information on our suppliers and the provenance of their ingredients, and our own, at any time, if required.scription
I have oily skin - how can more oil be good for that?
It’s a good question - surely you would want to reduce the amount of oil in your skin, not increase it? There is a lack of information and understanding on this topic, and it’s something we’re passionate about increasing awareness of. Oil cleansing sounds like an oxymoron—when we think of cleaning clothes or dishes, we want to get rid of oil. Soapy bubbles come to mind, washing dirt and oil down the drain. But skin is different because skin depends on oil to support good bacteria and keep pathogens out.
Some people find that they have less-oily skin after they start oil-cleansing. That's because if you remove too much oil from your skin when washing, your skin may start overproducing sebum to make up for it. This can cause a recurring cycle of oily skin, washing with harsh detergents, and then more oil. By using oil for cleansing, it can help keep the skin's natural balance more even.
Why using oils to cleanse the skin is good:
Using cleansing oils help to balance your skin's sebum production while keeping your skin moisturised. This balancing act makes oil cleansing a great option for all skin types, including oily and acne prone skin. The result: a balanced complexion.Oils are not only moisturising, they also work as a lipophilic solvent. This means that they are attracted to other oils for example the oil that skin produces and oily ingredients in makeup. This is how a cleansing oil can dissolve makeup and excess oil as well as leaving skin nourished.description
